The former goods yard site, which covers around 44 hectares, is currently being developed into a modern urban neighbourhood. Thanks to its proximity to the U6 and S-Bahn lines, as well as a new tram line which is set to be introduced in the future, the neighbourhood boasts excellent public transport links. The development also connects previously separate areas of Brigittenau and creates new green and open spaces.

Overview Nordwestbahnhof
By 2035, the Nordwestbahnhof area will have become one of Vienna’s major inner-city development zones. A sustainable neighbourhood combining living, working, leisure and recreation is being created on the site of the former freight depot. With its mix of housing, workplaces, educational facilities, and spacious open areas, the Nordwestbahnhof will become a forward-looking, liveable neighbourhood for future generations. STRABAG Real Estate is also building privately financed owner-occupied flats on the site, alongside the educational campus.
